Logic And Emotions

I love to watch the Discovery Channel proagramme especially show such as The Universe and How The Earth Was Made. I love to watch it because it expands the imagination and stimulate the brain. And also, I love to watch how great physicists with complicated minds try to simplify their explaination in order to make the show more interesting and attract people with the average mind so we can follow it. It is also an interesting and free journey to take when its with your mind. More often that not, they will always start their explaination by saying "imagine" or the longer version "imagine if you will". Now this word I will use quite often as like them, I intend to make my explaination simple.

Now lets get back to the title, Logic and Emotions. They are very much connected, however unlike what Miss Mora suggested in her comment and I quote "Our brains and hearts have, well, oddly a mind and emotion of their own.", I disagree. To me they are connected in a separate but much more intricate way. Imagine A family with triplets whom are identical and telekinetically (communicate with each other through the brain) connected all the time, now we name them logic, desire and emotion. All information will flow through downwards within a matter of nano seconds. Logic is like the elder brother who always looks out for everyone and trying to get everyone out of trouble. But like the real world, if the elder brother is not dominant and restrain the 2 brother's (most importantly Desire) then the outcome will mostly be negative. Desire is however, like the middle child that nobody really pays much attention to. However, desire are also very close to emotion. That's is why everytime a desire comes along we always mention it as feel, for example "I feel like drinking a coffee.", when in actually fact its more of a desire than a feeling. And depending on how strong the wisper of desire to emotion is, meaning logic can't stop it from wispering to emotion than you have a very emotional person. Emotion finally is the 3rd and last brother whom everyone always pay attention to and are usually the strongest of the three. That is also why when we are happy we visit emotion first and when we are sad we also visit emotion first. The first question is always how do we feel as oppose to why does things happen.

An example, if someone is emotional, then their desire is usually stronger than their logic and if someone is rarely troubled by their emotion, then their logic is usually stronger than emotion. Basic scenario, let's think about it, someone throws a mud to your face, now its not right, but the logical thing to do if your logic is more dominant than emotion, is to just wash it off and tell them its not right, rectify the problem and on you go. However when emotion is more dominant, Emotion comes into play and depending on how dominant the Emotion is it can be blown out of proportion. Maybe a little or maybe so big that it starts a war. Again as I mention, depending on which is more dominant, that will determine the outcome.

So, as the wisest person I've ever known (my grandfather) use to say to me, think about it PROPERLY. Go ahead, try to draw a diagram of how from the moment an information comes to our brain to the moment an action is taken. Because great minds agree that we tend to understand things more with visual stimulus rather than smell, sound or touch.

Next, well discuss how a note of thought can turn into strong memory.

Think with Logic Feel with Emotion. So, do u talk or speak?

  1. Let's not forget that the little emotions are the great captains of our lives
and we obey them without realizing it.

  2. Emotion turning back on itself, and not leading on to thought or action, is the element of madness.

    True or Not True ?

  3. Very interesting :]. I wish I would have kept tabs on this blog more closely these past weeks while I was dreading reading supermarket mags.

Before you decide to discuss your next topic, I want your take on the emotion of happiness. What does happiness mean to you? Is it a fading feeling, or an everlasting light within?

I'm not sure if you know where I'm going with this, but I recently read on book on this psychology.

Another happiness question is where can we draw the line of what is mad and what is happiness? For example: When children laugh for absolute no reason, we find nothing wrong about it because there isn't anything the matter. However, if an adult were to laugh for absolutely no reason, people assume that they are insane.

Also, this somehow struck me just now oddly, why do churches only show images of the crucifixion of Christ and not the ressurection? Why do we not ever see happy Jesus as he is described? Does he not represent the path to joy?
